State Designates Hezbollah Members as Global Terrorists
The State Department designated Hezbollah members Meliad Farah (here), Hassan el-Hajj Hassan (here), and Hussein Atris (here) as Specially Designated Global Terrorists. The designation includes prohibitions against knowingly providing, attempting or conspiring to provide material support or resources or engaging in transactions with the individual. The designation also freezes all property and interests of the individuals in the U.S. or in the control of U.S. citizens. All three individuals are suspected of involvement in terrorist activities outside of Lebanon, the home base of Hezbollah, State says (here).
