Unions Plan Capitol Hill Rally As TPA Debate Moves Forward

No TPA legislation has yet to be introduced this Congress, but USW said a bill is "likely" to surface soon. Some trade experts expect a Senate Finance Committee markup on a TPA bill in late April, which indicates lawmakers will likely introduce a bill before that point (see 1503310017). Committee chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, hasn't struck a public agreement so far with Committee ranking member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., on the legislation, despite months of negotiations (see 1504060059). DeLauro, Ellison and several other House lawmakers last rallied union workers on Capitol Hill in January (see 1501090022).
