BIS Denies Export Privileges for Several Individuals, Companies Over AECA Violations

The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security denied the following export privileges on April 2 in line with Arms Export Control Act convictions:

  • BIS denied export privileges for Brian Keith Bishop until 2018, after a U.S. court convicted Bishop of sending ammunition rounds to Jordan without a State Department license (here).
  • BIS denied export privileges until 2024 for Erik Antonio Perez-Bazan, after a U.S. court convicted Perez-Bazan of exporting grenade launcher barrels to Mexico without a State license (here).
  • BIS denied export privileges until 2022 for Ivon Castaneda, after a U.S. court convicted Castaneda of sending AR-15/M-16 firearm barrels, receivers, components, parts, and accessories to Honduras without a State license (here).
  • BIS denied export privileges for Seattle-based Precision Image until 2023, after a U.S. court convicted the company of exporting a PCB, Sensor Motherboard, H-1 Gyro, PESK-7571, which is a U.S. Munitions List-covered item that BIS referred to as “technical data” (here).
  • BIS denied export privileges for Ronald Dobek until 2024, after a U.S. court convicted Dobek of exporting F-16 canopy seals to Venezuela without a State license (here).
  • BIS temporarily denied export privileges for Tyson Preece, Corey Justin Preece and Toby Green, and their company X-TREME Motors for six months, after a U.S. court convicted those named of exporting USML-controlled rifle scopes and other items to China, Russia and other countries without a State license.
