WHO, CDC and State Department Travel and Health Warnings

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued the following health notices and alerts (CDC urges all American citizens to AVOID NONESSENTIAL TRAVEL to SIERRA LEONE, LIBERIA AND GUINEA:

  • Oct. 22: Ebola in Liberia (here)
  • Oct. 22: Ebola in Guinea (here)
  • Oct. 21: Chikungunya in Central America (here)
  • Oct. 21: Chikungunya in the Caribbean (here)
  • Oct. 15: Ebola in Democratic Republic of the Congo (here)

The State Department issued the following travel alerts and warnings:

  • Oct. 24: State released a Travel Warning for Somalia, due to continuing security threats, some of which are posed by terrorists groups (here)
  • Oct. 24: State released a Travel Alert for parts of West Africa, due to the ongoing risks posed by Ebola in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea (here)
  • Oct. 23: State released a Travel Alert for Russia, due to the potential for violence particularly along the Russian-Ukrainian border (here)
