- Canadian Government actions to strengthen mining sector. The Minister of State Gary Goodyear, speaking at the Northwind Invitational Forum, stressed the importance of Canadian Government support for the mining sector both nationally and internationally to ensure it remains competitive in the global market by supporting initiatives such as the $100 million dollar commitment over the next seven years to help companies find deposits and create jobs. - Harper Government celebrates most successful month for free trade. The Minister of International Trade Ed Fast outlined the recent historical successes of the recent month for Canada’s participation in several trade deals, but most significantly trade agreements such as the Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement and Canada-European Union (EU) Summit. - Construction at new border crossing at Morses Line. The CBSA has announced that construction will begin the week of October 6 to modernize the Morses Line port of entry. (here)
- CFIA suspends registration of Cedarvale Farm. The CFIA has announced it has suspended the registration of Cedarvale Farm because the operator failed to maintain the egg station in the required conditions outlined the Egg Regulations. (here)
