Russian President Vladimir Putin banned in early August agricultural imports from Norway, the U.S., European Union and Canada, in retaliation against Western sanctions (see 14081417). The latest round of Norwegian sanctions includes “asset-freeze measures and travel restrictions” on additional individuals and entities, a ban on Crimean imports and certain investments, and a ban on the import and export of certain Russian defense and dual-use items, as well as financial and petroleum trade restrictions.
