BIS Amends EAR To Replace Obsolete Information on Western Red Cedar, Oil and Petroleum Products

The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) amended the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to replace obsolete descriptions and commodity numbers for certain unprocessed western red cedar, crude oil and petroleum products. The final rule will not affect BIS’s current enforcement practice with respect to these "short supply" commodities, it said. The final rule updates the Schedule B numbers used when filing in the Automated Export System.
