Census Restricts AESDirect Usernames from EEI Viewing and Filing

Automated Export System Direct (AESDirect) user managers and account administrators will as of April 28 no longer be able to file, view and manage Electronic Export Information (EEI), unless they create a second username strictly for viewing or filing EEI, said the Census Bureau. The change is in line with Census Bureau and Commerce Department security policy, said a Census release.

For those that want to keep their usernames to access AESPCLink templates and profiles:

  • Account administrators can create a new username and transfer the Account Administrator role to that new username. Ensure that your current username does not also have User Manager permissions.
  • User managers can create a new username, give that user User Manager permissions and then remove the User Manager permissions from your current username.
