State Proposes Extension on Import Restrictions for Honduran Cultural Objects

The Department of State issued a proposal to extend the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Honduras Concerning the Imposition of Import Restrictions on Archaeological Material from the Pre-Columbian Cultures of Honduras. The MOU restricts the U.S. importation of certain Honduran cultural ceramics, stones/stucco, metal, shells and bones (here). The import restrictions will expire in March 2014 after a five-year effective period (here).
