USTR said the following 20 countries began negotiating the TISA in January: Australia, Canada, Chile, Taiwan, Colombia, Costa Rica, European Union on behalf of its member states, Hong Kong China, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, and Turkey. Those countries agreed to admit Paraguay and Liechtenstein. USTR said the TISA may, at some point, be brought under the auspices of the WTO General Agreement on Trade in Services.
