had hoped for by the end of 2012 when he first announced formation of the group in late 2011. “We are on a good solid pace,” Glikes told us, saying 20 candidates “are interested but haven’t pulled the trigger.” Azione’s goal is to have 250 dealer members across the U.S., he said. With representation in 25 states, Azione is halfway to its stated goal of having at least one dealer in every state. Combined sales totaled more than $200 million, and Azione dealer members employ close to 1,000 individuals, Glikes said. Azione has 32 vendor members, Glikes said, including Sonance, Integra, Harman, Samsung, Liberty AV Solutions, Digital Projection, Access Networks, IC Realtime, Triad, Leon Speakers, Universal Remote Control, Middle Atlantic Products and Stewart Filmscreen. The group plans to announce three additional vendors next week, including a “shocker” that’s expected to accelerate the pace of dealer acquisition, Glikes said. Azione will stick with traditional AV-related vendor companies for the foreseeable future, Glikes said, but didn’t say whether the group will expand into other categories. The group’s next dealer/vendor meeting will be in St. Louis April 10-12.
