DDTC Requires Version 3 Statement of Registration, Effective Immediately

U.S. industry must use the updated version (Version 3) of the DS2032 Statement of Registration form, effective immediately, the State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls said in a Jan. 18 Industry Notice (here). It said Version 3 revisions include fixing several typos and adding new flow-over instructions to Block 12 advising the applicant to enter the email address of the person to receive the approval letter and who will receive the electronic renewal notice letter. DDTC no longer mails hardcopy approval letters or renewal letters, it noted.

All manufacturers, exporters, and brokers of defense articles, related technical data and defense services as defined on the U.S. Munitions List (Part 121 of the ITAR) (PDF, 7MB) are required to register with the DDTC. It said registration is primarily a way to give the U.S. government necessary information on who is involved in certain manufacturing, exporting and brokering activities. Registration does not confer any export rights or privileges, but is a precondition for the issuance of any license or other approval for export (here).
