CBP Releases Agenda for East Coast Trade Symposium

CBP released the detailed agenda for the 2012 East Coast Trade Symposium at the Renaissance DC Downtown Hotel, Washington, D.C., Oct. 29-30. It includes general sessions at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29, as well as 9 a.m. Oct. 30. Breakout sessions are set for 2 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Oct. 29.

Timely, relevant coverage of court proceedings and agency rulings involving tariffs, classification, valuation, origin and antidumping and countervailing duties. The Oct. 30 general session will focus on global supply chain security. Among the topics will be government-to-government initiatives such as the National Strategy for Global Supply Chain Security and the National Export Initiative. CBP said a critical element is the use of advanced trade data, increasing trust and confidence in security. Other topics will be Authorized Economic Operator programs, and Mutual Recognition Arrangements.
