USTR Sets New Dates for Country Practice Petitions

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is changing the hearing date and related deadlines for the Country Practice Petitions Accepted as Part of the 2011 Annual Generalized System of Preferences Review, it said in a Federal Register notice scheduled for Aug. 16. The new dates are:

Timely, relevant coverage of court proceedings and agency rulings involving tariffs, classification, valuation, origin and antidumping and countervailing duties.   • Sept. 18: Deadline for submission of pre-hearing briefs and requests to appear at the Oct. 2 public hearing.
  • Oct. 2: The GSP Subcommittee of the Trade Policy Staff Committee public hearing on the country practice petitions at 1724 F Street, NW, Washington, DC, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
  • Oct. 23: Deadline for submission of post-hearing briefs.
