USCBC Touts Strong Growth in China Exports from Hill Districts

Exports to China are outpacing exports to the rest of the world in Congressional districts across the country, according to the US-China Business Council's (USCBC) annual US Congressional District Exports to China report. It said export growth to China was higher than to other countries in 420 of 435 congressional districts. "China is the third-largest U.S. export market and continues to provide growing opportunities for U.S. businesses, whether large or small," said USCBC Vice President Erin Ennis.

  • Washington's 4th District ($3.3 billion), including crop production, minerals and ores, and primary metal manufacturing.
  • Louisiana's 5th District ($3.1 billion) -- crop production, chemicals, and waste and scrap.
  • Oregon's 1st District ($1.5 billion) -- computers and electronics, waste and scrap, and chemicals.
  • Washington's 2nd District ($1.5 billion) -- transportation equipment, crop production, and computers and electronics.
  • Alaska''s At-Large District ($1.4 billion) -- seafood products, minerals, ores and forestry products.
