  • Joint port operations committee. Canada and the U.S. established eight joint port operations committee’s at Canada’s airports which will facilitate cross-border trade and travel and promote overall port management. (here)
  • Canadian beef trade. The Minister of Agriculture Gerry Ritz said Canadian beef producers will benefit from newly restored market access to Peru, which will be reopened for Canadian bone in beef under 30 months of age. (here)
  • Whirlpool Bridge crossing. CBSA said Whirlpool Bridge, which is a dedicated NEXUS crossing located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, has produced minimal to no delays when entering or returning to Canada. (here)
  • Montreal Conference. The Prime Minister of Canada said he will participate in the Conference de Montreal which is organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas and provides the opportunity for participants to discuss major issues concerning the economy. (here)
  • Canada-Russia relations. Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird issued a statement highlighting the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Russia as arctic neighbors and trading partners. (here)
  • NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. DFAIT updated the 2012 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports. (here)
