CBP Posts Forms to Register for & Receive Updates on AES

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted the following forms and information related to the Automated Export System (AES):

  • AES Guestbook - an online registration form which companies can fill out to sign up with the AES to receive updated information on the current issues and events in the AES community. (here)
  • LOI Form: Commodity Data (EEI) - A Letter of Intent (LOI) is required to participate in the AES, which is a written statement of a company's desire to participate in the AES and implies the development or purchase of a software solution by the company that conforms to the AES data formats. Upon receipt of the LOI, a Customs Client Representative and a Census Client Representative will be assigned to serve as the company's technical advisors during development, testing and implementation of the AES.   • LOI Form: Vessel Transportation Data - A LOI is also required to participate in the AES Vessel Transportation Module to show a carrier's commitment to develop, maintain, and adhere to Customs performance requirements and operations standards as a participant in the AES. (here)
