2012 TRQ for Beef Opens Jan 3

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a memorandum announcing that the 2012 tariff rate quota for beef provided for in HTS Chapter 2, Additional U.S. Note 3 will open on January 3, 2012 with the below-listed countries having the following low-duty access amounts:

Imports under these provisions are subject to U.S. Trade Representative regulations (see 15 CFR Part 2012 - Implementation of TRQs for Beef).

See CBP's notice for applicable HTS numbers and its special instructions regarding the export certificate that is required for Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, and Uruguay.

However its special instructions regarding filing entries with HTS numbers 9903.02.22 and 9903.02.24 non-ABI due to the beef hormone sanctions against the European Community are no longer relevant as the U.S. recently terminated all 100% duties in the U.S.-EU beef hormone dispute.
