2012 TRQ on Cheese and Substitutes for Cheese Opens Jan 3

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a memorandum announcing that the 2012 tariff rate quota for cheese and substitutes for cheese provided for in Chapter 4, Additional U.S. Note 16 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule will open on January 3, 2012. The below-listed countries or areas have the following low-duty access amounts:

Of the quantitative limitations provided for in this note for the European Community 25, Portugal shall have access to a quantity not less than 353,000 kg. In addition, of the quantitative limitations provided for in this note for Israel, no more than 160,000 kg shall contain more than 3% by weight of butterfat.

Imports described in HTS Chapter 4, Additional U.S. Note 16 are subject to agriculture licensing.
