Interest Forms for BIS’ Update 2011 Registration due by May 9
The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued a notice announcing that online “Interest Forms” for registration for its annual Update Conference on Export Controls and Policy on July 19-21, 2011 in Washington, DC are due by May 9, 2011.

BIS Uses Two-Step Registration Process
BIS states that those interested in attending the Update 2010 conference must follow a two-step process:
First, the online “Interest Form” must be submitted between April 19, 2011 and May 9, 2011.
Second, if there are more potential attendees than there is space available, BIS will grant registration through a random selection from the entire list of potential attendees, regardless of when received during the period.
Selectees to be notified. Those selected to attend will be notified and given registration instructions. They must register and submit payment by a designated date indicated in the instructions or their spot will be forfeited and given to someone on the wait list.
Those not selected to attend will be notified that they have been placed on a wait list.
Registration Transfers Within Companies May be Permitted with Prior Approval
Registration transfers within companies or organizations may be permitted with prior approval from BIS. However, registration transfers between different organizations or companies will not be permitted and registrations may not be sold.
Due to the limited capacity of the Update Conference, BIS reserves the right to limit, restrict or decline registrations. Registrations are not confirmed until accepted and verified by BIS and the registration fee has been paid.
