House & Senate Pass Continuing FY 2011 Appropriations, President Expected to Sign
On April 14, 2011, the House and Senate passed H.R. 1473, a bill to fund the federal government for the remainder of fiscal year 2011 (i.e., through September 30, 2011). The President is expected to sign H.R. 1473 into law on April 15, 2011. (The current government funding appropriation, enacted on April 9, 2011, expires on April 15, 2011.)

According to a House Appropriations Committee summary, under H.R. 1473 all critical frontline operations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) -- including Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Transportation Security Agency, are sufficiently funded to meet mission requirements and sustain staffing levels.
