CPSC Announces Open Meetings with Industry Stakeholders

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has updated its list of meetings between CPSC and industry stakeholders that are open to the public, unless otherwise stated:

Timely, relevant coverage of court proceedings and agency rulings involving tariffs, classification, valuation, origin and antidumping and countervailing duties.   • Apparel and footwear. Neal Cohen, Acting Small Business Ombudsman, will lead a session on “Open Dialogue with the CPSC” and participate in a session on “Product Safety at the Border”at an American Apparel and Footwear Association event in NYC; 01/18/11.
  • Zippers. Commissioner Adler and CPSC staff will meet with the YKK Corporation of America (a zipper manufacturer) to discuss testing and certification requirements under the CPSIA and to update CPSC on where YKK standards are with regard to meeting these requirements; 01/19/11.
  • Zippers & stay on lead. Commissioners Northup and Nord and staff from Chairman Tenenbaum's office will meet with YKK to discuss the stay of enforcement on lead; 01/20/11.
  • Magnet toys. Vince Amodeo and CPSC technical staff will attend the ASTM F15.22 Toy Safety subcommittee meeting of the magnet toy working group; 01/31/11.
