Text of Food Safety Bill Available, Awaiting Signature by the President

H.R. 2751, the FDA Food Safety and Modernization Act, which was passed by the House on December 21, 2010 and the Senate on December 19, 2010, is now available. The bill has been cleared for signature by the President, who is expected to sign the legislation into law.

H.R. 2751 will amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) with respect to the safety of the food supply. It includes new importer requirements and fees, certification for high risk food imports, verification of foreign suppliers, etc.
