Details of CPSC's Requested HTS Statistical Changes That Take Effect Jan 1
International Trade Commission sources have provided a document listing the statistical changes to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule that are scheduled to take effect January 1, 2011 (or other dates as noted in document).

These changes have been approved by the Committee for Statistical Annotation of Tariff Schedules (484(f) Committee). According to ITC sources, the 484(f) Committee is responsible for considering government and private sector requests for changes at the 9th and 10th digit level for tariff numbers, their unit of quantity, and/or written description.

CPSC Requested Changes to Identify Imports of Various Children’s Products, Etc.
The following are additional details on only the HTS changes requested by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). These changes appear to affect, in large part, children’s products, including certain child/pet gates, children’s chairs and highchairs, stationary activity centers for children, infant walkers, bouncers with seats, swings, child safety seats, play yards, cribs, toddler beds and bassinets and cradles, etc.
