FY 2011 Sugar Blends TRQ Opens October 1

CBP has issued a memorandum announcing the opening of the fiscal year 2011 tariff rate quota on sugar blends, as provided for in HTS Chapter 17, Additional U.S. Note 7. This TRQ opens on October 1, 2010 and the TRQ level is zero. Such sugar blends must be entered at the over-quota (high) rate using the appropriate over-quota HTS tariff number.

CBP's notice lists the relevant HTS Chapters 17, 18, 19, 21, and 99 tariff numbers. Entries from Canada, Mexico, Jordan, Singapore, Chile, Australia, Morocco, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Bahrain, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Peru, and Oman are not subject to additional agricultural safeguard duties under HTS heading 9904, and should be presented as a type 02 entry using the high rate (over-quota) tariff number provided for in HTS Chapters 17, 18, 19, or 21 without the HTS Chapter 99 tariff number. Such entries must be reported through the quota module of ACS.
