CBP to Modify Daily Statement Record for New Electronic Invoice Indicator

CBP has issued a CSMS message stating that it will modify the daily statement output (Application Code QR) Q2 record to display a new electronic invoice indicator. The new field will alert the trade that an electronic invoice is required for an ACS entry summary transmitted with an electronic indicator (e.g, an ACS EIP entry filed locally or remotely).

The new field will be displayed in the following manner.

  • Record identifier Q2 (output)
  • Data element -- Invoice Required Indicator
  • Length/class -- 1A
  • Position -- 77
  • Status -- conditional
  • Description -- this field applies to an ACS electronic invoice filed summary and is part of the Automated Invoice Interface (AII) program. A code of ‘I’ indicates that invoice data should be submitted for the summary. A space in this field indicates that invoice data is not required to be submitted at this time. The invoice required indicator field applies to summaries where an ‘E’ is indicated in the entry summary record identifier 10 Input Record in position 56.

The trade will be notified in a future message when the above system changes have been completed.
