Companies, Trade Groups Urge Preservation of First Sale Rule
On March 24, 2010, over a hundred companies and trade associations sent a letter to the leadership of the House Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committees expressing strong support for the preservation of the first sale rule. The letter notes that businesses depend on predictable rules under which to operate and the signatories are concerned that revocation may again be contemplated. The companies and trade associations asked the leadership for support to maintain the First Sale Rule and to ensure that U.S. Customs and Border Protection does not attempt to revoke the policy again.
