The International Trade Administration is seeking comments on priorities for the Transatlantic Innovation Dialogue from any interested party, including industry, consumer, labor and environmental groups, trade associations, professional organizations/societies, academia, and Federal, state, and local governments. Comments will be used to identify and select projects for cooperation on innovation policy between the U.S. government and the European Commission. 2. FSIS Public Meeting to Address Codex Committee on Milk, Milk Products
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Offices of Food Safety and Inspection Service and the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) have announced a January 13, 2009 public meeting to provide information and receive comments on agenda items and draft U.S. positions that will be discussed at the 9th Session of the Codex Committee on Milk and Milk Products (CCMMP), to be held in Auckland, New Zealand, February 1 - 5, 2010. 4. Starting Jan. 1, 2010, Virtually All Inter-ASEAN Trade Will be Duty Free
Starting January 1, 2010, the six nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand can import and export almost all goods across their borders at no tariff, as an additional 7,881 tariff lines come down to zero duties, bringing the total tariff lines traded under the Common Effective Preferential Tariffs for ASEAN Free Trade Area (CEPT-AFTA) to 54,457 or 99.11%. 5. Canada Initiates AD Sunset Review of Whole Potatoes from the U.S.
On December 30, 2009, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry (sunset) review of its September 2005 order on the dumping of certain whole potatoes imported from the U.S. for use or consumption in the province of British Columbia.
