3. USTR, Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Meet

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has posted the joint statement of USTR Kirk and Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Rachid. The two recently met to discuss ways to expand U.S.-Egyptian economic ties and signed a Plan for a Strategic Partnership, which aims to further promote economic cooperation between U.S. and Egypt. 4. WTO to Hold 7th Ministerial Level Conference Nov. 30-Dec. 2, 2009

The World Trade Organization's General Council has agreed to hold the Seventh Session of the WTO Ministerial Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, from November 30 - December 2, 2009. The general theme for discussion shall be "The WTO, the Multilateral Trading System and the Current Global Economic Environment". 5. DFAIT Posts Message to Online Brokers on Utilization Levels for Certain Imports of Milk Protein Substances

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) has posted a message to on-line brokers on utilization levels for imports of milk protein substances with a milk protein content of 85% or more by weight, calculated on the dry matter, that do not originate in a NAFTA Country, Chile, Costa Rica, or Israel. 6. Japan's METI Posts Joint Statement from U.S.-Japan Investment Initiative Working Group Meeting

7. CARB Announces Funding to Restart Project for Cleaner Trucks

The California Air Resources Board will receive $161 million in the next installment of the 2006 voter-approved Proposition 1B funds for cleaning up emissions from school buses, trucks and port equipment as a result of the State Treasurer's sale of bonds on Earth Day. Of this amount, the Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program will receive $90 million. ARB had suspended implementation of this program because of the state's inability to raise bond funds. 9. Treasury Targets Medellin-Based Drug Trafficker

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) today designated Medellin-based drug trafficker Pedro Antonio Bermudez Suaza (alias "El Arquitecto") as a Specially Designated Narcotics Trafficker (SDNT) pursuant to Executive Order 12978.
