3. OFAC Newly Designates Individual Blocked Under Terrorism E.O.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control is publishing the name of one newly-designated individual, Abdul HAQ (A national of China, see notice for alias') whose property and interests in property are blocked, effective April 17, 2009, pursuant to Executive Order 13224 of September 23, 2001, ''Blocking Property and Prohibiting Transactions With Persons Who Commit, Threaten To Commit, or Support Terrorism.'' 4. APHIS Updates Its Fruits and Vegetable Import Manual

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has updated its Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Import manual. This manual lists by country the fruits and vegetables that are admissible into the U.S. It includes a description of methods for sampling and inspecting selected fruits and vegetables, pictorial identification guides, and a glossary for common and scientific names of fruits and vegetables. 5. Canada's Minister Day in Washington DC for Trade Related Meetings

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada reports that Canada's Minister Day is currently in Washington to attend a series of trade-related meetings, including meetings with U.S. Trade Representative Kirk and Commerce Secretary Locke. Minister Day will also make a speech to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on April 28, 2009. 6. Over 500 Experts Attended WCO IT Conference

A World Customs Organization press release reports that over 500 experts from Customs and business gathered in Morocco on April 22-24, 2009 to discuss the role that information technology (IT) can play in linking all parties operating at the border in the most effective manner, with a special focus on supply chain security and trade facilitation. 7. FTZB Receives Request to Amend North Dakota FTZ Request

The Foreign Trade Zone Board has received a request from the Fargo Municipal Airport Authority, grantee of FTZ 267, to amend its request for manufacturing authority (construction and agricultural equipment) under FTZ procedures at the manufacturing facilities of CNH America, LLC within FTZ 267 Site 2 to include additional foreign-sourced components.
