2. OFAC Issues Quarterly Report of Licensing Activities

OFAC has released its Quarterly Report of Licensing Activities, covering activities undertaken by OFAC under Section 906(a)(1) of the Trade Sanctions Reform and Export Enhancement Act of 2000 (TSRA) from October through December 2008. Under the procedures established in its TSRA-related regulations, OFAC processes license applications requesting authorization to export agricultural commodities, medicine, and medical devices to Iran and Sudan under the one-year specific licensing regime set forth in Section 906 of the TSRA. 4. ITC Releases Upgraded Electronic Document Information System (EDIS)

The International Trade Commission has released an upgraded version of its Electronic Document Information System (EDIS), the ITC's web-based docketing and document management tool that allows users to file documents electronically and view/research documents filed in all ITC investigations. Users will find a new "look-and-feel" when they access the upgraded system, which features enhanced security, improved reliability and performance, easier navigation, and faster availability of documents filed within the system. 5. EPA Proposes to Amend its Regulations on Aerosol Coatings

The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to amend the National Volatile Organic Compound Emission Standards for Aerosol Coatings, which establishes national reactivity-based emission standards for the aerosol coatings category (aerosol spray paints). Comments must be received by May 4, 2009, unless a public hearing is requested. If a hearing is requested on the proposed rule, written comments must be received by May 18, 2009. 6. FDA Posts Enforcement Report for April 1st

7. DDTC Announces Company Name Change for License Applications

The Directorate of Defense Trade Controls has announced that Hispano Suiza's Electronics Division will change to Sagem Defense Securite due to an acquisition. New DSP license applications received after June 1, 2009, identifying Hispano Suiza's Electronics Division as a party to the license will be considered for return without action for correction to the new name. 8. Recent FTZB Action for Louisville, KY

The Foreign Trade Zone Board has received an application from the Louisville and Jefferson County Riverport Authority, grantee of FTZ 29, requesting special purpose subzone status for the aluminum foil liner stock manufacturing plant and warehouse of Reynolds Packaging LLC, located in Louisville, Kentucky. 10. Canada Issues Notice on Certain Milk Protein Substances

Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada has issued a notice on milk protein substances with a milk protein content of 85% or more by weight, calculated on the dry matter, that do not originate in a NAFTA country, Chile, Costa Rica or Israel. 11. EU to Launch European "Observatory" on Counterfeiting and Piracy

On April 2, 2009, at the second High Level Conference on Counterfeiting and Piracy, Internal Market and Services Commissioner McCreevy, together with Members of the European Parliament, were to launch a European Observatory on Counterfeiting and Piracy. The "Observatory" will be a platform to collect data, raise awareness, facilitate dialogue, exchange views and share best practices in enforcing intellectual property rights between business and national authorities.
