The Consumer Product Safety Commission has posted videos and private sector presentations from separate public meetings both held January 22, 2009 on the effect of the lead content provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) on apparel and books. The participants discussed lead content limits and testing requirements specified by the CPSIA, and industry representatives discussed product testing programs and the results of testing for lead, and provided overviews of industry practices. The Food and Drug Administration has posted revised versions of the following Import Alerts on the detention without physical examination of:

Milk Products, Milk Derived Ingredients and Finished Food Products Containing Milk from China Due to the Presence of Melamine and/or Melamine Analogs

and Guidance of Foods Containing Illegal and/or Undeclared Colors

5. OFAC Designates 4 Individuals under Terrorism EO

The Office of Foreign Assets Control has issued a notice publishing the names of four newly-designated individuals whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to Executive Order 13224 of September 23, 2001, "Blocking Property and Prohibiting Transactions With Persons Who Commit, Threaten To Commit, or Support Terrorism."
