2. EU Group Meets to Set Agenda for a Low-Carbon Technology Policy

The first meeting of the European Union Steering Group on the implementation of the Strategic Energy Technologies Plan (SET Plan) was held on June 26, 2008. This Steering Group intends to set the agenda for an EU energy technology policy that will position the EU in the forefront of the low-carbon technologies. 3. President Certifies Rescission of N. Korea's SST Designation

President Bush issued a memorandum on June 26, 2008 on the certification of the rescission of North Korea's designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism. 5. DEA Proposes Revised 2008 Aggregate Production Quotas for Certain Controlled Substances

The Drug Enforcement Administration issued a notice proposing revised 2008 aggregate production quotas for controlled substances in schedules I and II of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Written comments must be postmarked, and electronic comments must be sent, on or before July 31, 2008. 6. OFAC Updates List of Blocked Persons, Etc.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control is amending Appendix A to 31 CFR chapter V to (1) reflect the addition or removal from Appendix A, since it was last published, of the names of individuals and entities subject to the various economic sanctions programs administered by OFAC, and (2) provide updated identifying and clarifying information for certain individuals and entities included in the appendix. OFAC also is amending the notes to the appendices to 31 CFR chapter V to reflect the revisions to Appendix A and changes in the status of several programs.
