2. Seattle, Tacoma WA Ports Announce Clean Air Strategy for Trucks
Land Line Magazine reports that officials at the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, WA have announced the "Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy" calling for 80% of the trucks at the port to reach certain 2007 emission levels by 2015 and all trucks to meet the standard two years later. 3. USDA Grants Protection to 15 New Plant Varieties
The Agricultural Marketing Service has issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued certificates of protection to developers of 15 new varieties of seed-reproduced and tuber-propagated plants, including bean, bentgrass, fescue, soybean and wheat. AMS states that owners will have the exclusive right to reproduce, sell, import and export their products in the U.S. for the duration of protection.
