The International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued a press release announcing that David Beck has been designated as Director of the ITC's Office of Tariff Affairs and Trade Agreements (OTATA). As the OTATA Director, Beck will oversee the maintenance and publication of the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). 2. Updates, Adjustments Made to Document on Passenger Data for Flights Between U.S. & EU
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a notice describing the updates and adjustments made to its 2004 document entitled Undertakings of the Department of Homeland Security Bureau of Customs Protection regarding the manner in which it would handle certain Passenger Name Record (PNR) data relating to flights between the U.S. and European Union (EU) member states. CBP states that its notice describes updates and adjustments made to the document in order to reflect changes in the law and circumstances surrounding these data transfers. 3. OFAC Designates 17 Additional Persons Under Narcotics Sanctions, Etc.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued a notice which publishes the names of 17 newly-designated persons whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to Executive Order (EO) 12978, entitled "Blocking Assets and Prohibiting Transactions with Significant Narcotics Traffickers." The notice also publishes changes to identifying information associated with 9 previously designated persons. The designations and changes were effective October 31, 2006. 4. OFAC Unblocks Property of Four Individuals Under Narcotics Sanctions
OFAC has issued a notice publishing the names of four individuals whose property and interests in property have been unblocked pursuant to EO 12978 and whose names have been removed from the list of Specially Designated Narcotics Traffickers on December 22, 2006.
