The article notes that Census has clashed with DHS and CBP over their demand to share export declarations filed by shippers with foreign governments who want to pre-screen shipments from the U.S. for security and customs compliance, and to eliminate post-departure filing of export forms. 2. ITA Revokes Export Trade Certificate for American Textile Export Company, Inc.
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice announcing that the Secretary of Commerce has determined to revoke the Export Trade Certificate of Review for American Textile Export Company, Inc. because of the company's failure to file an annual report. According to the ITA, the revocation is effective 30 days from April 25, 2006. 3. NOAA Announces Continued Importation of Certain Tuna from Ecuador
NOAA has renewed the affirmative finding for Ecuador under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a notice announcing that it will hold a public meeting on May 9, 2006 in College Park, MD in order to provide information and receive public comments on agenda items and draft U.S. positions that will be discussed at the 26th Session of the Codex Committee on Methods of Analysis and Sampling, which is being held in Budapest, Hungary from May 15-19,2006.
