3. DHS Announces Homeland Security Advisory Council Meeting

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a notice stating that it will hold a meeting to receive reports and briefings and to hold member deliberations. The meeting will be partially closed to the public and will take place in Washington, DC on January 10, 2006, with comments due by January 3, 2006. 4. U.S. and Mexico Sign Aviation Agreement

Shippers' NewsWire reports that the U.S. and Mexico have formally signed an aviation agreement that allows more passenger and cargo flights between the countries. Specifically, the new terms allow any number of scheduled all-cargo carriers to fly between the countries, and three all-cargo carriers to fly in each U.S./Mexico city-pair market. 5. FWS Adds Two Species to List of Endangered/Threatened Wildlife

The Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has issued a final rule which adds to the list of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife two marine taxa. Specifically, FWS is adding the white abalone (Haliotis sorenseni) and the U.S. Distinct Population of the smalltooth sawfish (Pristis pectinata), effective November 16, 2005.
